Has anyone upgraded their lights to a mega-bucks set and got an old model (I don't mean Linda Lusardi btw) kicking around the garage looking for a good home? I'm after some lights but can't justify £200+ for a set so looking to grab a bargain if possible.... here's hoping - cheers

Not sure how much you want to spend Chris, but these are hard to beat for the price: www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149Less that £50.. Lots of reviews on the singletrackworld forum and almost all positive. They're based on a P7 LED which are as bright as the sun, certainly bright enough for offroad riding all through the winter.

Thanks for the pointer... I'll start saving my pennies - a far more reasonable amount of money

Hi Chris,
As I've just been through all of this, so hopefully it will help.
Be careful to get correct version of this product with a UK charger. I went for this one, but it has a US style adapter. It will work in a shaver adapter, but there is a version of the same light with a UK Plug.
You can also get a helmet adapter and a proper elastic strap to make it into a headtorch. If you do so, then you may also need the extension cable so that the battery can be mounted on a belt.
I have the product SKU numbers for the strap and cable if anyone needs them.
The light does seem very good, it's more focussed but the light bit of it seems fairly well made and solid, but runs fairly hot.
Ordering a Magicshine light from Deal Extreme is slow, it took around 8-9 weeks for one to arrive for me, but eventually it turned up, but that was over XMAS so perhaps the weather held it up a little.
There are some UK importers of the Magicshine light who sell them at around £75 I recall, so might be a better deal if you don;t want so much risk and a long wait. they do all the various parts I believe.
I ended up buying an Exposure Maxx-D as I couldn't wait after I already ordered from Deal Extreme, which is amazing and although expensive seems well worth the money for MTB-ing.
Certini's showed me a similar light, that Raleigh have rebranded for Raleigh, which I believe was £125, and there are sites in the UK that sell. They also have Demo lights available and one trip out if you wanted to try an Exposure light before forking out for one.
